Environmental Scientists often work in multidisciplinary teams with other scientists and engineers on environmental projects.  Employment opportunities exist in both urban and rural locations throughout Texas, the nation, and internationally.

The Division of Environmental Science at Stephen F. Austin State University offers both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degree programs in environmental science. Graduates of the Environmental Science programs at Stephen F. Austin State University are well trained and therefore highly employable.

Employers contact and visit the Division regularly to seek graduates of the programs.  The Division of Environmental Science actively assists in permanent job placement for graduates by arranging on-campus interview opportunites with employers and by maintaining a regularly updated Environmental Science jobs-available listing on the web.

In addition, many students while in the program are employed on research projects conducted by the faculty.  The Division also cooperates with outside employers in the development of internship opportunities for students.  Both of these temporary employment opportunities provide students with additional valuable experience in the profession while still in school.
